Michael Sargent

Michael Sargent is a Visting Fellow in Infrastructure and Public Finance at the Economic Policy Innovation Center (EPIC) in Washington, DC, where he focuses on advancing policy and financial solutions to improve the efficacy of the nation’s infrastructure and fiscal governance. He is also currently a senior advisor for a leading infrastructure investment firm, where he helps advance business development with a focus on public-private partnerships.
Prior to joining EPIC, Sargent served as Deputy Secretary of Transportation for the Commonwealth of Virginia under Governor Glenn Youngkin, where he helped lead a team that provided top-ranked transportation infrastructure and services to 8.7 million residents. Sargent previously worked in consulting and conducted policy research with a focus on infrastructure and public finance.
He earned a bachelor's degree in history and economics from Davidson College and is a certified Public-Private Partnership professional by the Association for the Improvement of American Infrastructure. He resides in Washington, DC.
